MESA CASI, LA HISTORIA
Casi viene de Casilda y os voy a contar brevemente una historia. Hace unos 9 años acudí a Casi, que es asesora fiscal, porque en aquella época estaba con unos problemas económicos bastante preocupantes. Para poder afrontarlo comencé alquilando mi apartamento por airbnb y poco más tarde tenía varios apartamentos que alquilaba, reformaba y llevaba por alquiler turístico. Si alguna vez has levantado un negocio sabes de lo que te estoy hablando, el camino es duro y las trabas administrativas y fiscales son enormes. Te lo ponen muy complicado y era muy difícil darle forma a mi problema; y gracias al soporte de Casi pudimos crear una estructura con la que poder avanzar. Cuando empezamos, yo no podía pagarle, así que al principio tuvo que trabajar gratis y lo hizo por ayudarme y porque creyó en mi. Y eso que no nos conocíamos casi (valga la redundacia) por aquel entonces. Así que empezamos a tomar buenas decisiones, poco a poco, pasamos muchas dificultades y he de decir que ha valido la pena. Estas cosas hacen una amistad.
En medio de todo este período, ella me pidió que le diseñara una mesa. Así que diseñé la mesa Casi con mucho cariño, ella fue partícipe de todo el proceso y ahora está feliz con su mesa y la historia que lleva.
Casi comes from Casilda and I’m going to tell you briefly a story. 9 years ago I came to Casi, she is a tax consultant, because at that time I was with big finantial problems. In order to face this situation I start renting my apartment on airbnb and some time later I had several apartments that I was renting and after renovate them I was running them as a touristic rental. If you have ever assembled a business you know what I’m talking about, the way is too hard and the administrative and tax obstacles are hughe. All so complicated, even imposible sometimes and thanks to Casi support we could create a structure within advance across this situation. When we started, I could not pay to her, so she worked for free because she believed on me. Even when we didn’t know each other that much. So we started to make good decisions, step by step, passing through many obstacles and now I can say it was worth it. These kind of things make a friendship.
In the middle of this period she asked to make a table for her. I designed so the Casi Table, she was in love with the process and she is so proud of the table and the story behind.

Cuando Casi me encargó el diseño ya habían varias cosas sobre la mesa que yo tenía ganas de hacer. Voy a intentar ilustrarlo con imágenes de referencia. Son imágenes que acabo de coger y que responden a los conceptos que siempre tuve en la cabeza.
When Casi told me to make the table for her, there was already many things on the desk. I will try to illustrate the references by images. I have just looked for these images by the concept were in my mind since the begining.
Esto es el Metropol Parasol de Sevilla (photo by Tom Podmore on Unsplash), es un ejemplo de lo que en arquitectura llamamos Estructura Waffle, que quiere decir gofre. Quería utilizar esta técnica pero en lugar de tener una cuadrícula homogenea de vigas quería concentrarlas allá donde los esfuerzos son mayores, es decir, cerca de las patas. De esta forma el resto queda mas liviano o transparente.

El gótico es la máxima expresión de esbeltez estructural en la arquitectura clásica y fue una de las inspiraciones que tuve. Siempre me ha encantado la esbeltez y claridad de las estructuras góticas.
Gotic is the maximum expresion of slenderness in classic architecture and it was an inspiration. I always loved the slenderness and clarity of the gotic structures.
